Atlantis Resort Bahamas

This is my first trip to the Atlantis Resort Bahamas and at the end of the first day, we decided that we needed to get something to eat and headed over to the Marina Village. We were a little unsure of where to eat dinner but knew that there was a Johnny Rockets over there and we were familiar with that and also knew that you didn't need a reservation. Fortunately we didn't have to wait and got seated right away.

The Atlantis resort in the Bahamas has a lot of shopping and there are many shops in the Marina Village shops as well as in the Crystal Court shops between the Coral Towers and the casino. We also found some shops in the connecting hallway between the Coral and the Beach Towers. At this point, I haven't seen the BahamaCraft Centre to give you a report on that.

It was around dusk when we got over to the Marina Village and it was just starting to liven up on the streets and in some of the restaurants that have entertainment. There were a couple of street bands I saw for sure and at least one in a restaurant.

Our son had really put forth the energy at the Mayan Temple pool and by the time we got to dinner, I think he would have been fine just to go back to the hotel room and crash. So, we just ate real quick and headed back. This Johnny Rockets was better than the one back home because they actually still put on a show which was great.

Other restaurants over there included, Bimini Road, Cafe Martinique, Carmine's, Jamba Juice, Seafire Steakhouse, Starbucks (but they don't take giftcards from the states), Village Creamery as well as Johnny's.

You'll find at Atlantis resort in Bahamas that you don't have to really carry your wallet. You can room charge everything and that a 15% gratuity is automatically added to your bill. You only have to add an extra tip if you want to reward extra good service. I actually overheard a guy explaining to a waitress that that was a stupid way to do it. Like she can change it! It's all corporate.

We are big diet coke drinkers and are used to the free refills we get in the U.S. all of the time, so to have to pay for each one at $4.00 per drink really adds up. That like all the food you buy will cost you more than you are used too. We looked into the meal plans they offered but it was $69 per adult and we didn't even spend that on the first day. It also didn't include every meal or drinks so the meail plan wouldn't have saved us any money.

If this is the first time you have been to the Atlantis resort Paradise Island Bahamas, remember that to keep your food costs down, you can also bring some food in (which is what we did) or go into town and go to the grocery store. It didn't seem worth the effort to go into town and go to the grocery store so we didn't opt to do that.

If you are going to eat at some of the restaurants that take reservations, it is recommended that you make all of your reservations at one time, either before you come or once you arrive and try to make them for off-peak times like 5:00 or 9:00 pm.

On our first day, we had pizza and burgers and spent about $100 or so on our food which is about what I expected. That's still alot for what we got and probably $20 bucks or so was just our carbonated refreshment....lol.

When we were out for a walk in the marina area, we noticed a lot of super nice boats (or yachts) docked there. I'm sure if I was a boater like that, I'd be like Atlantis Resort Nassau Bahamas here I come because it is really pretty and scenic destination.

It seems like the driver on the way over from the airport said that there were 700-800 islands in the Bahamas but that they only inhabit around 31 of them. I can't say because I haven't been to any other place here yet, but it seems that the Atlantis Resort and Casino Bahamas is probably the best destination for the amenities that it provides.

There are so many different pools, waterslides, restaurants, not to mention all of the fabulous marine life in the aquariums and excursions that you can take while you are here that it would take many days to see everything. I'd highly recommend at least three days here if not four the first time you go.

It would probably say to take one day for the Mayan Temple waterslides, one day for the Power Tower water slides, one day for the beaches and one day for the aquariums.

Anyway, since I am still here as I write this, I am going to wrap up my information today by saying if you haven't been to the Atlantis Resort Bahamas, you need to go sometime soon. It's pretty cool.
